Purnell Sports Youth are ready to start their 13th season with a clear pathway from Kids Club (4-7 year olds) right the way through to Adult football. This also comprises of three girls teams and two Ladies Teams which have
recently moved to the Adult Section of the Club. On top of this we are proud to now be able to offer PAN-Disability for children aged between 5-12 years. A wonderful new venture bringing children who through a variety of reasons have not been part of a team
and can not gain confidence and self belief that they can achieve things with any disability.
We are a community based, friendly Club who offer football to all ages and abilities. Since forming in May 2008, we reached Charter Standard Status in September
2009 and following that became Charter Standard Club of the year 2010. Our greatest achievement was being the 12th club in the whole of Somerset to reach Charter Standard Community Club status in March 2012. Our Club Secretary/Welfare
Officer was awarded by the FA in 2013 for her "Outstanding Contribution to Community Football" and had the honour of being awarded at Buckingham Palace by Prince William. Our Youth Player Committee received recognition by the FA at their annual awards in 2014
for "Empowering Youth" and in 2015 Claire was awarded Child Welfare Officer of the Season for all she does for the Club and the Leagues she is involved in. The Club won once again at the following years Somerset FA awards, this time picking up Female Club
of the Season. One extra award we were thrilled to be nominated for was Bath Chronicle Sports Awards "Community Club of the Year" held at Bath Racecourse. We didn't win but what an honour to be in a room full of Rio Olympic/Paralympic medalists and other
amazing sports men and women. The Club is extremely proud of all their achievements to date and strive to continue their high standards.
You can be assured that all our coaches have the correct qualifications and checks in place, and these are updated
every three years, the legislated requirement set out by the FA.
We pride ourselves on giving all children the opportunity to play football with their friends in a safe environment and being able to offer them any opportunities that
are available. We always welcome new players and volunteers to join us so please contact Claire on the contact link for more details and information.
